Things to know

*Must use vouchers between Feb 1 - March 12
*Order Friday-Monday on the www.jumbojoes.com
*ONLY ONE VOUCHER CAN BE REDEEMED PER WEEK (So if you want one for each week during the cycle I believe you can get 6 vouchers... and a lot of produce really cheap

My first impression with Jumbo Joe's was that it was great produce and still less expensive than the grocery store but that Bountiful Baskets came with more produce for the money... BUT with this deal- it for sure makes it worth while and an even a better deal than Bountiful Baskets. I bought 5- would have bought 6 but we will be out of town a little during the promotion.

Seriously, you get lots of produce and it is so fresh- this is a no brainer way to save on Groceries...
skip the grocery store for 6 weeks! :)

Bountiful Baskets

So I realized this past week that I have never told you about one of my favorite ways to save on fresh produce. If you haven't heard of Bountiful Baskets let me tell you about them.

Bountiful Baskets is a non profit organization that pools money together from a group of people(like you and I) to buy their produce from local farmers first. You get a HUGE amount of FRUIT and VEGGIES for waaayyy cheaper than a grocery store can sell them. Your first basket is $15 + a $3 joining fee(that you never have to pay again). You can upgrade to ORGANIC on Week B if you want to as well for another $10. Besides FRESH PRODUCE, they have other "offerrings" like bread, tortilla packs, cookie packs, this week they have an egg dying pack for Easter too!

Can I just tell you, their bread is soooo delicious?!!! I don't consider myself a health nut and usually find that "healthy" food doesn't always please my taste buds but this bread is so dang good and contains very healthy ingredients, one of which is flax seed.

So just to give you an idea of how much food you get with one basket, take one of those white plastic laundry baskets and double it!!!!
You get one full of fruit and one full of veggies. Each week the offerrings are different so you get a variety every time and if you get something you aren't used to, you can check thier website for recipes and they are also on FB!

Althought the baskets are not yours to keep, you need to bring something of your own to take the produce in, I use a big cooler.

Lots of states offer bountiful baskets, and if yours does not, you can start up a location and rally up some volunteers to help out!

You can order from 10am on mondays to Tuesday Evenings in Utah, other states it is 12 noon on mondays to Tuesday evenings. The baskets sell out fast so you want to for sure jump online ASAP.
Trust me you won't be dissappointed!

It is also a great way to do service too. They ask that you at least help prepare the baskets once so you can get a taste of the volunteer work. The first time I did it, everyone helped and it was really fun, freezing rain and all!

**I also really love this because these are the foods that are harder to get on sale or with coupons. Rarely there are fresh produce coupons and even with those coupons, this is cheaper anyway!

Here is the INFO for the bread: (I know it is about the same price for some bread at the store but it is much healthier and tastier!)
