Utah's Basket vs. Bountiful Baskets

I've always been a fan of Bountiful Baskets but can't always order because we leave town for the weekend quite regularly. I just found out about a new food co-op called Utah's Basket.

So what's different about this company?

1)They offer two different types of baskets, one is just fruit and one is a mixed fruit and vegetable-mostly vegetable- basket.

2)They are $20 for each basket. (That is more expensive than Bountiful Baskets who sells their mixed for $15)

3)you pick up the basket on FRIDAY instead of Saturday! You can enjoy your weekend.

4)You know ahead of time what comes in the basket too!

5)Ordering is from Thursday through Monday night.

6)I also read that you don't have to bring a basket because they put it all in a box for you. That is nice because I can be forgetful with my basket. lol.

7)One other thing, As far as I can tell, there are no additions like Bountiful Baskets has... like the Mexi Pack, the breads, granola's, boxed fruits, and other fun additions.

I'm not sure it is better than Bountiful Baskets but I think I will try ordering next time around and see just how much comes in these baskets. And for sure when I'm not in town for the Saturday Bountiful Basket I can then order the Utah Basket.

Have you ordered from them before?
What do you think about  Utah's Basket?

Bountiful Baskets! Order now!

I have been out of the habit for a while with ordering Bountiful Baskets due to family trips and neglect. But now that it's spring and everything I love is freshly grown close to home, I'm sure hoping for some good baskets!

At our yard sale we had a little over a week ago, a fellow Bountiful Basket enthusiast came at the very end of the sale... and guess what? She gave us a bag of extra apples she had gotten just that morning from her basket! They were yummy and it was definitely a first for me to be paid in apples! lol! She actually gave them to me before she even looked at the yard sale items so it was a gift, not pay!

Anyway, it sure got me in the mood to order again and I just ordered our basket. Yay!

And of course it saves lots of money when compared to grocery store prices and considering you can't be tempted to add in extras when you head out to pick it up!

Bountiful Baskets

(This picture is of my first order ever made, it includes 2 conventional baskets, a 9 grain bread pack-5 loaves, a tortilla pack-7 dz total: 3 dz 12 in. flour Tortillas-cafe rio style, 2 dz - 6 in. flour, 2 dz - 6 in. corn, and a mexi pack. We were headed to Lake Powell for a week with lots of family so I ordered extra... still had lots left over though!)

Order your baskets today! There are tortilla packs, mexi packs, bread packs and blackberries you can add on too! Yum!

The Mexi pack and the tortilla pack make for some excellent mexican meals...
(Just to compare size)

Here is a recipe for Tomatillo Salsa Verde!
I used the boiling method.

Perfect for chicken enchiladas and also for drizzling over any mexi meal or just dipping salsa! I made it the first time I got the mexi pack(which had ALL the ingredients) and my family(inlaws too) LOVED it! We did chicken enchiladas and then drizzled it on top and had extra sauce. I didn't try but I bet once you make it, you could either bottle it or freeze it too!

I'm excited to make some blackberry jam! Delicioso!
