5 Ways to Make Extra Money

I think most of us can agree that making more money would be helpful in this economy. As a stay at home mom, I have been tempted to jump back into the career field. The only problem is I really want to do what is best for my kids and that is to stay home with them
So that eliminates taking a job outside of the home.

So for me, I have been trying to find other ways to make a little extra income. You might find that they will work for you too!

Top 5 Ways to Make more Money

1) Take talents you have and turn them into CASH.
Do you craft, sew, paint, do wood working, work in photography, do graphic design, scrapbook, or even create Excel spread sheets(and so much more)?

Then you can take that talent and turn it into cash by setting up an online business. My favorite online market place is, of course, Etsy but you can also use Ebay, Amazon, Copius, ArtFire, Tophatter, or even Facebook.

Each website has it's own unique niche so find what works best with your product.
**Marketing through word of mouth will pay off big. I personally offered products for blog review several times in the past and saw a huge difference in sales for my products. This makes for a low cost advertising that is most effective over just simply posting and paying for an ad. You get someone who backs up your product and brags about it for you as well as a permanent link to your site out there in the internet world.

2) BLOG about it!
Yes blog about it. Others can blog about your products but YOU can too! I have been blogging for years now and have been trying to learn from the pros of the blogging world. That's another post to come. If you have a topic you are passionate about and you can ignite interest in an audience, then you can make money from it.

The income will come from Affiliate programs- choose them wisely. Some pay off while others are of almost no use. Also don't expect it to come immediately. Remember, I have been blogging for a LONG time and I am just now starting to make a small income from my blog aside from product reviews.

You can start a blog using Blogger or Wordpress and other formats too but I chose Blogger because of it's easy interface and navigation. They have improved a lot through out my years of blogging. Make sure to make your blog a .com too! It makes a big difference.

3) Yard Sales
The tried and true yard sale can bring in some quick cash over a few hour period. I have many tips you can read about on how to have a successful yard sale here

4) Donate Plasma
OK, I know that this is a bit controversial for some people so I'll start with saying, research it and do what is best for you. I know that locally there is a company called Bio Life who will pay you up to $240 a MONTH for donating twice a week. This may be an option for you if your schedule and health permits for it.

5) Become a Sale Rep
Yes, there are sooo many different products out there that you can sign up to become a sales rep for!
I have tried a few myself and have almost always regretted or hated it.
Velocity Rapid Weight Loss, however, has been totally different for me. This is a product I tried first for my own personal benefit to see if it would work... and it did! I simply got excited that it worked and talked about it working- then friends wanted it- so before I signed up, I already had two bottles sold!

So my advice to you is to research the product first, make sure you LOVE it, then research the "business" or the commission layout, decide if it's right for you, then sign up and dive in!

Having an online site for your product is super nice. For instance, with Velocity,
you can go straight to my online site and order any time you want and I can get paid.
If you sign up as a rep, so can you!

You can also choose to teach others how to save by teaching Coupon Classes through
Grocery Smarts and when someone orders newspapers through you, you get paid!

Pretty awesome because you learn to save money, you teach others to save money, and you make money too!

So those are my TOP 5 WAYS TO MAKE EXTRA MONEY!
What are yours???

Local Yard Sale Sites...Save $$$

So you all know about Craigslist by now but did you know that St. George has a few Facebook Pages to sell your stuff and buy stuff locally?! Yes, I'm a bit hooked and check these pages often!

Here are the two favorites!

and

I have seen SOOO MANY CUTE CUTE things go up for sale on these sites. Wish I could buy it all, lol! But I have also loved being able to list my stuff for sale or trade too!

Just remember to sell local and to be smart and safe when meeting up for a sale with someone you don't know!

My rule of thumb is if I don't already know you, I'll meet up in a public place with you and I'll only accept CASH. Checks are just another easy peasy way to get ripped off.

Coins for Kids... my kids... not what you think.

I have a bit of a hard time motivating my children to clean, listen, quit fighting... ok well, I just have a hard time with them. Don't get me wrong there are LOTS of great times too... but my three children are all very young. the oldest will be 5 soon, then a 3 year old and a 1 year old. To say the least, they are so close together that not only do they LOVE each other, they are constantly around each other- except when Big sis is at pre-school so they tend to fight lots too.

Since we have a vacation coming up and I really don't need to be stressing over the little things I know they can do, maybe I can encourage my kids into doing them with a reward tied to the vacation! Every time they make their bed, clean the toy room, living room, bedroom, or simply do things without mom's help... they earn coin! YAY!!! And if they beg for mom's help... they don't get coin. If they fight, they LOOSE coin.

They get to do this until the day we leave for our trip, then we'll count it out and see how much they can spend to buy souvenirs. I know I'm not the first to think of this idea or anything but we just haven't had a reason for such a cause until recently. I don't want them thinking that their whole life I will pay them to do chores they should already do so having a goal for them to work toward, such as spending money for the vacation is perfect.

Then after that, we'll come up with a different plan like this idea I ran across months ago- and have yet to make it...
a "Caught ya being Good" method.
